Legacy in Every Pour: The R Farms Story

When Dylan Rosier and his family started R Farms, they weren’t just planting corn — they were planting an idea. One that would grow into something much bigger than a field of grain.

As fourth-generation farmers in the hills of Holt County, Missouri, the Rozier family has been rooted in agriculture since 1930. But like many modern farmers, they saw the need to evolve. “We were looking for a way to diversify the farm,” Dylan shares. “We explored everything from specialty crops to aquaculture before landing on something that felt natural — distilling bourbon and rye.”

And natural it was. By law, bourbon must be made with at least 51% corn — and corn just happens to be the Rozier family’s favorite crop. With roughly 3,500 acres of it in rotation each year, the leap from row crop to rye whiskey was more like a small step.

“We’re corn farmers. That’s what we love to do,” Dylan says. “Creating something with what we grow just made sense.”

But R Farms isn’t just about spirits — it’s about spirit. The operation is a true family business, built on values passed down through generations. “One generation has always tried to provide an opportunity for the next,” Dylan explains. “We couldn’t expand the farm fast enough to bring everyone back, so we built something new — something that added opportunity and required new skill sets. And it brought our family even closer together.”

From planting and harvest to distilling and bottling, the work never stops. And that means equipment that can handle the pressure. “We use our Timpte trailers year-round,” Dylan says. “Grain to market, soybeans to the field, fertilizer, you name it — we’re always hauling. Timpte has been reliable for us. We’ve used them for years, and we’ve never had a reason to change.”

As part of their mission, R Farms also pours their energy back into the community. Their distillery hosts family-friendly events and brings something new to Northwest Missouri — a place where, as Dylan puts it, “there’s not always a ton to do.”

And their approach to whiskey? All heart. “You’ll hear ‘grain to glass’ a lot in the industry,” Dylan says. “But for us, it’s truly farm to finish. We’re the same ones putting corn in the ground and pouring the final product. That authenticity resonates — because it’s real.”

This Corn Month, we’re proud to celebrate R Farms — where modern farming meets distilling, and the corn harvest fuels something truly special.
