Timpte’s Roughneck Trailer Offering

As we enter 2022, Timpte Inc. is celebrating 138 years in business, and we are proud to continue the tradition of being the #1 selling dry bulk commodity trailer in North America. But what does it truly mean to haul any dry bulk commodity? At Timpte, this has been broken down into four industry sectors: Agriculture, Aggregate, Fertilizer, and Energy.  These sectors represent different products, or commodities, our hopper trailers are seen hauling across North America. While most see how our trailers fit into the Agriculture, Aggregate and Fertilizer sectors, its entrance into the Energy sector has taken off over the past few years.

In 2019, Timpte introduced the Roughneck trailer to its product line to optimize hauling for frac sand. Frac sand must meet very specific standards, to be useful at wellsite, and characteristics including crush strength, purity, roundness, and size. This trailer features a single-hopper design to achieve superior empty weight for maximizing payload and increases your bottom line by reducing loading and unloading times at the site and transload facilities.  Depending upon configuration, the Roughneck trailer can accommodate a payload of 27 tons, 54,000 lbs., or more of frac sand based upon tractor weight and standard payload weight.

“The Roughneck trailer has changed the transportation logistics side of fracking” said Jim Rabenberg, Senior Sales Manager for Timpte. “By providing a way to save time during loading and unloading, more trucks are able to go through the wellsite each day, and by offering a trailer that can withstand the harshness of the last mile logistics at these sites, Timpte has really delivered another industry leading product.” The demand for fracking is anticipated to increase by 20% in the first half of 2022.
